Series 800 was the workhorse console in 1980s. Introduced in 1981, the 800 marked a natural progression in our product lineup from the 400 model. This newer console boasted 8 busses, 4 Auxes, and offered greater flexibility for adapting to various applications. Recognizing the limitations of a single-console design for both recording and live performances, we marketed the 800 as a comprehensive 'system.' Customers could choose from 18, 26, or 32 input frames, accommodating 4 dual output modules along with the master module. Users had the option of selecting from two distinct input modules and two output modules.
For those focusing on recording, pairing the Standard input module with the Recording Output module created an ideal setup for 8 or 16-track recording and 16-track monitoring.
Alternatively, by utilizing the same input module but incorporating the PA Output module, users could assemble an 8-group front-of-house live console, complete with 8 FX returns as a standard feature.
For stage monitor mixing requirements, combining the Monitor Input module with the PA Output module allowed users to configure a console tailored specifically for this purpose. Additionally, a 4-way effects return module was available for added versatility and functionality.
