The Eventide H949 Harmonizer, a successor to the H910, revolutionized the concept of an effects unit by combining a digital delay line, pitch-changer, and versatile special effects capabilities. With the utilization of advanced random access memories (RAMs), the H949 offered high-quality performance and improved audio specifications. It introduced groundbreaking terms like algorithm, random, and micropitch to the audio industry, encapsulating our marketing message of "more of everything."
Features:
- MicroPitch: The dedicated "MicroPitch" mode offered precise double-tracking emulation through subtle pitch adjustments. The enhanced display with 0.1% pitch resolution became a valuable instrument for precise tuning and tempo control.
- Reverse: The Reverse mode functioned similarly to cutting and splicing tape segments in reverse order. Pitch Control remained active, allowing users to modify the pitch of the reversed segments. Combined with feedback capabilities, a wide range of innovative sounds became achievable.
- Repeat: The groundbreaking Repeat function enabled time-reversal and pitch-changing of the captured audio.
- Flange: The inclusion of Flange Mode established the H949 as one of - the earliest "multi-effects" products in the audio industry.
- Random Mode: The Random mode introduced variable delay ranging from 0 to 25 milliseconds, providing a natural and less identical doubled vocal sound for double-tracking emulation.
- TimeSqueeze: TimeSqueeze allowed for speeding up or slowing down audio while maintaining a constant pitch. This feature proved highly beneficial for broadcasters seeking to accommodate advertisements without affecting the pitch audibly.
