Although it is known as an entry level, one must not forget, that this is a "Coles" entry level we are talking about. And by naming 4030L entry level, Coles have set the plank way, way up high.

4030L uses the same technology magnet and ribbon technology as the big brothers like 4040 and 4050, and delivers a warm and silky sound and a flat frequency response from 50 to 20000 Hz.

The figure 8 polar pattern in very consistent on both axis, which ensures great detail, no matter how complex the sound source.
