TUOMO is the constantly evolving solo project of Tuomo Prättälä, a Helsinki-based singer & keyboard player who draws inspiration from a wide array of sources – jazz, soul, hiphop and experimental electronic music. In this concert he will perform trio with the tighter-than-life grooves of Teppo Mäkynen (drums) and Tapio Backlund (bass), leaving plenty of space for rhythmic and sonic exploration.
Since he launched his solo career in 2007, Tuomo has released 4 albums. ’My thing’ won an Emma award (Finnish Grammy) and eventually went gold. During the covid lockdowns of 2020, Tuomo released a string of 25 new tracks on his bandcamp page and called it ’Quarantine music’. He has since released more singles and EPs while working on a new album. In addition to his solo work, Prättälä has worked with many of Finland’s greatest Jazz ensembles and artists like Quintessence, Ilmiliekki Quartet, Timo Lassy, Verneri Pohjola and Linda Fredriksson Juniper.
The video and audio of the studio concert will be recorded together with the audience and published on media channels freely chosen by Retrosonic Pro Audio and the performers. By attending the studio concert, visitors give permission to photograph, film, record and publish the material.
The audio is recorded by multi-award winning recording, mixing and mastering engineer Tommi Vainikainen.
